Product Overview
What is a European Jaw Crusher?
The 6CX European jaw crusher is a heavy-duty primary crusher built to next-generation European engineering standards. Its optimized deep-cavity jaw geometry and reinforced welded steel frame deliver higher crushing force relative to machine weight than conventional PE jaw crushers – accepting larger feed, producing higher throughput, and generating a more uniform product size without a proportional increase in power or footprint.
Ten standard models cover feed openings from 800×510 mm to 1600×1200 mm, serving mid-scale quarry primary stations through to high-capacity mine crushing lines. The 6CX is the preferred primary crusher for hard, abrasive, irregular feed material – granite, basalt, iron ore, and similar demanding applications where machine strength and wear resistance directly determine operating cost.
Applicable Materials
Granite, Basalt, Quartzite, River pebble, Iron ore, Copper ore, Limestone, Slag, Construction waste.
Industries
Hard Rock Quarrying, Metal Mining, Aggregate & Sand Production, Highway, Railway & Hydraulic Engineering, C&D Waste Recycling.

What Is the Working Principle Of the European Jaw Crusher
Feed material enters the deep crushing chamber from above. The fixed jaw plate is rigidly mounted to the frame; the swing jaw is driven by the eccentric shaft in an elliptical path - forward to compress and fracture material against the fixed plate, back to release and allow broken material to drop toward the discharge opening. The steeper nip angle grips feed more securely than conventional designs, reducing slip and increasing effective crushing strokes per pass.
Material that passes the closed-side setting exits to the discharge conveyor; material above size remains in the chamber for additional crushing. The toggle plate at the base of the pitman acts as a mechanical fuse - fracturing under overload before structural damage reaches the frame or eccentric shaft.

How does the 6CX Differ from a Standard PE Jaw Crusher?
The 6CX uses a deeper chamber with a steeper nip angle, a heavier eccentric shaft, and a fully welded high-strength steel frame. These differences deliver a higher crushing force-to-weight ratio, better feed control for large irregular lumps, and a more uniform discharge size compared to PE-series machines of equivalent feed opening — at similar or lower energy per ton.
How Long do Mn13Cr2 Jaw Plates Last on Granite?
On granite (200–260 MPa), Mn13Cr2 jaw plates typically run 400–700 operating hours before reversal or replacement, depending on CSS and feed gradation. We stock OEM Mn13Cr2 plate sets for all 6CX models and recommend keeping one spare set on site.
What CSS Range does the 6CX Series Support?
CSS range is confirmed at order based on your application. As a guide, 6CX primary crushers typically run at 80–150 mm CSS for coarse primary crushing ahead of a secondary cone, and 50–80 mm for fine primary crushing where tighter secondary feed is required.
Is On-site Commissioning Support Available?
Remote commissioning support via video call is included at no charge. On-site engineer dispatch is available as an optional paid service — lead time and cost depend on location. Please discuss before purchase.
