When Should I Choose a Single-cylinder Hydraulic Cone Over a Multi-cylinder HPT?

Single-cylinder cones offer simpler hydraulics, lower initial cost, and easier site maintenance - well suited to medium-hard materials and operations where budget and maintenance simplicity matter. Multi-cylinder HPT cones provide greater holding force, finer CSS control, and better performance on very hard, abrasive materials (basalt, quartzite, iron ore) at high throughput. For mixed-hardness feed or budget-sensitive operations, the single-cylinder is the practical choice.

Can the HPT Operate if one Hydraulic Cylinder Fails?

The PLC will detect the pressure drop and flag the fault immediately. The machine should be stopped and the faulty cylinder serviced before resuming production. Operating with a failed cylinder risks uneven CSS load distribution, which can accelerate liner wear and damage the main frame. Hydraulic cylinder seals and components are stocked for all HPT models.

How Often do Mn18 Liners Need to be Replaced?

Liner life depends on material hardness, CSS, and throughput. On granite, Mn18 mantles typically run 400–800 operating hours before replacement. On softer limestone, life is considerably longer. We recommend monitoring liner wear weekly and planning change-outs during scheduled maintenance windows rather than running liners to failure.

How is the CSS Adjusted on the HPT Series?

CSS is adjusted via the PLC control panel - the hydraulic system raises or lowers the main shaft to the target gap position without stopping the crusher. Adjustment takes under two minutes and is logged by the PLC. Manual backup adjustment is also available.

When Should I Choose a Multi-cylinder HPT Over a Single-cylinder or Spring Cone?

For hard, abrasive materials (basalt, quartzite, iron ore) and high-throughput applications, the HPT multi-cylinder's greater holding force and PLC control deliver tighter product gradation and lower cost per ton. For medium-hard materials at moderate throughput, a single-cylinder hydraulic or spring cone offers adequate performance at lower initial cost and simpler site maintenance.

Can Impact Plate Gap be Adjusted During Operation?

Yes - the hydraulic adjustment system allows impact plate gap changes under load without stopping the crusher, enabling operators to fine-tune product size during production. Full inspection and reset is performed during planned maintenance with the hydraulic frame fully open.

What Distinguishes the CS5X from the PF and CF Impact Crusher Series?

The CS5X is the largest-format series, built for ultra-high-capacity primary crushing with feed acceptance up to 1,300 mm and output up to 2,000 t/h. The PF series targets secondary and tertiary crushing of pre-crushed material; the CF series covers heavy primary duties at moderate scale. The CS5X is the choice when throughput and feed size requirements exceed what the PF or CF can handle.

How Does the CF Series Differ from the PF Series?

The CF series is built for heavier-duty primary crushing with larger feed acceptance (up to 1,100 mm) and higher per-unit capacity than the standard PF series. The CF rotor and frame are designed for the higher peak loads of oversized primary feed, while the PF series is optimized for secondary and tertiary crushing of pre-crushed material.

How Long do Cr26 Blow Bars Last on Granite?

On granite (200–260 MPa), Cr26 blow bars typically run 300–600 operating hours depending on feed size and rotor speed. Each bar has two usable faces - rotating bars before they are fully worn doubles effective service life. We stock OEM Cr26 blow bar sets for all CF models.
